AS/RS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) is a computerized robotic system that automates operations including unloading, sorting, put-away, storage, order-picking, staging and loading. The system comprises four main components:

The storage rack
The input/output system
The storage and retrieval (S/R) equipment
The computer management system

In ASRS systems, heavy-duty rackings are placed on both sides with a small aisle space between them. The rail-mounted storage and retrieval mechanism is fixed between these aisle spaces, with rails covering the entire rack length. The system features a PLC Controller for overall operation management.
